If your vision needs correction and your eyes are healthy, you can choose to improve it with eyeglasses or contact lenses. Each choice has pros and cons. Your selection depends on your preferences and way of life.
At Palisade Eye, the care and comfort of our patrons are our main priorities. You will receive personal attention throughout every step of the process. We consider every patient to be unique, and we know that individual preferences vary. Our goal is to offer a clear picture of all of your options and deliver the results you expect. We use state-of-the-art knowledge and technology to perform a complete array of services with the utmost thought and precision.
Here’s a rundown of the positive and negative aspects of each. Take a look!
Glasses’ good aspects are that they’re so darn easy to use. Simply put them on and start your day. They don’t require special cleaning liquids, they’re simple to care for, and you can put them on and take them off at will. There are countless genres of frames; pick one (or more!) that suits your style. If your prescription changes, you can keep the frames and replace only the lenses.
Glasses’ bad aspects are that your vision can get disrupted when the lenses get wet or foggy, and especially at the edges of strong prescriptions. The weight of eyeglasses on your nose and/or ears may be bothersome, or you just don’t like how you look in them. Glasses are disadvantageous while participating in sports, whether contact or not (sailing, scuba diving).
Contact lenses’ good qualities are that they provide you with vision that’s more natural because they move with your eyes and nothing blocks your sight. They don’t: hinder your sporting activities, get distorted in the rain or become foggy.
Contact lenses’ bad qualities are that they need much more care than glasses. You must handle them when your hands are squeaky clean, and cleanse and store them correctly. Not following those “rules” can leave you with a bad eye infection. It’s also imperative that you remain mindful of, depending on the type of your contact lenses, how long you leave them in your eyes per wearing period.
We at the office of Palisade Eye take pride in our outstanding service, attention to detail and friendly professionalism. We look forward to exceeding your high expectations. Please call us today for an appointment.
