We most commonly prescribe soft contact lenses because of their comfort level and versatility. Types of soft contact lenses include those worn for daily wear and extended wear. Daily wear contacts can be worn for up to 12 hours before being removed at night and cleaned. Extended wear contacts can be worn more flexibly and for longer periods of time. Disposable lenses are usually only worn for about a day or less before being discarded. Having the right contact lenses is key to having comfortable fitting contacts and to ward off any dryness or any eye conditions that can occur from poorly fitted contacts.
